What it does:
Musashi Inosine is one of the more complex amino acids. Inosine has been used in the medical field for wound healing. Inosine also plays a role in the production of muscular energy. Not only does Inosine have a large structure, it also has a wide number of applications in the body. These include energy, (as the precursor of adenosine); the formation of nucleotides in our genetic make up; and to promote wound healing. Our main dietary source of Inosine is in meat. Vegetarians and Vegans unfortunately may not be getting all the Inosine they require though their diet, even with the body’s ability to manufacture small amounts of it. Vegetarian and vegan sports people might want to supplement with additional amounts of Inosine to both provide energy and cover the shortfall in their diet. 2/3 of a teaspoon (about 2g) taken once per day should see a higher production of adenosine in the body. With higher adenosine levels the body can make better use of its creatine energy pool in muscles.

Inosine and Energy production: Inosine plays a role in the production of muscular energy by helping our body synthesize adenosine. Adenosine (as adenosine triphosphate) acts as the spark plug of muscle energy and with creatine is the first fuel the muscle burns in any activity. High levels of ATP and creatine are especially important in explosive power sports such as sprinting, football, weight lifting (and training), athletics, and swimming. Some times the competition in these sports can be won at the starting block or in the first few seconds of activity. Extending the length of the ATP and creatine burn in muscles by loading with Inosine and creatine could give you that extra “edge” over the competition.
Inosine and Wound healing: Inosine has been used in the medical field for wound healing, but not through oral administration. It has been placed directly on a dressed wound.
